Couch to 5k – Progress Report – Running Pupdate

Well after my first 3 weeks of training, I took a 2-week hiatus. I think I was training a little too hard for my body. During my third week, I started having sharp pains in my left knee and it was very uncomfortable to run, I just couldn’t do it. So instead, Mya and I have been taking nice long walks.

Well, 2 weeks turned into 4 (totally by accident… right?) I’d love to say I was super busy, but in reality, I didn’t want to run. However, I did make it my goal to be able to run a 5k with Mya this year, so I better step it up if I’m going to complete this goal of mine.

Last week I decided to get back into the game and start over fresh. Thankfully it’s right on time to complete the training in 8 weeks for the first 5k on September 23rd.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

  • Mya is still faster than me
  • Always carry at least 2 poop bags!
  • Yoga capris with side pockets are a game changer
  • Running may suck, but running with your furry best friend is a great workout
